Twisted Coffee Spoon Pendant – Adie Brothers Ltd, Birmingham 1927
This piece began life as a complete sterling silver coffee spoon from a set crafted by Adie Brothers Ltd in Birmingham, 1927. Instead of separation, this pendant retains the spoon’s full form — bowl, stem, and all — transformed through a deliberate hand-twist that gives it a sculptural, kinetic quality.
The hallmarks remain intact along the stem and bowl, proudly bearing the Birmingham anchor, lion passant, and date letter “C” for 1927. Twisting the entire form gives the metal a new tension and life — the reflective surfaces shift as the piece turns, creating a sense of motion even when still. It’s both jewellery and artifact, a conversation between craftsmanship and reinvention.
