Two Centuries of Craft: Antique Floral Silver Pendant – Levi & Salaman & Barker Brothers, Birmingham 1903 & 1956

$85.00

This pendant brings together two generations of Birmingham silversmithing — the ornate floral repoussé of Levi & Salaman (L&S), circa 1903, and the mid-century refinement of Barker Brothers Silver Ltd, dated 1956.

The sculpted floral section, once the edge detail of an Edwardian nail buffer, carries the hallmark “d” for 1903 and was crafted by Levi & Salaman, known for their luxurious repoussé work. The reverse, repurposed from antique sugar cube tongs by Barker Brothers Silver Ltd, bears the hallmark “G” for 1956. Together they form a pendant that quite literally bridges eras — one side flowing with Art Nouveau naturalism, the other echoing the clean, functional silver of post-war design.

The contrast between the two eras is subtle yet striking: a century’s worth of style evolution, joined seamlessly by hand into a new, singular form.
