Arthur George Rendell (A.G.R.) Silver Watch Case Bar Pendant – Chester, 1908

$130.00

This pendant began life as the structural frame of a 1908 sterling silver pocket watch — the inner section that once held the movement and glass securely in place. Now reimagined as a sculptural bar pendant, it preserves the marks of its maker and the quiet craftsmanship of Edwardian horology.

Original Item was stamped with A.G.R. for Arthur George Rendell, a Clerkenwell Road silversmith and importer active between 1907 and 1909, the piece was assayed in Chester and was complete with the hallmark letter “h” for 1908. The original case, numbered 444729, would have enclosed a finely made mechanical timepiece - its silver frame designed for precision and longevity.

Today, that precision lives on in a new form: the layered texture and gentle warping of the silver tell the story of both engineering and artistry.
